A level meter proves the microphone is receiving sound, but playback is the real confidence check. Record one normal sentence, play it back, then adjust input gain, distance, or microphone choice until speech is clear.
If playback is too quiet, raise the system input level or move closer. If it crackles or distorts, lower the gain, move back, or turn off aggressive processing in your app.
What to listen for
Healthy speech should sound steady without harsh clipping, heavy background hiss, or sudden dropouts. Compare the clip after changing headset, laptop, USB, or Bluetooth microphones.
Use headphones for live monitoring. Playing microphone audio through speakers can feed back into the mic and create a loud loop.
Private by default
The recording is saved on this device. The audio player and download link use that local file; nothing is uploaded.
No account, upload, or server-side processing is used for the playback test.
